About Samuel
For my GCSEs I achieved all A*s (8s & 9s) and right now I am an aspiring Computer Science Student, and I’m studying Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science for my A Levels. But I’d be more than happy to help anyone preparing for their GCSEs or any other exams leading up to A Levels.
However, I am particularly confident with the IGCSE & GCSE Edexcel and OCR Computer Science syllabuses, but would be happy to adapt to other syllabuses such as AQA. My goal is to make students feel more confident in what they’re learning and help them realise that they can achieve more than they might think.
I currently teach Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science at GCSE and below level. I have 45+ hours of teaching experience.

I’m a big believer in the idea that everybody has the potential to achieve top grades in any subject, no matter their current ability. In my lessons, I will aim to pinpoint any areas which a student may be struggling and help them build a deeper understanding for key concepts, which will help set them up for success.
I've been doing private tutoring for a year now and I've found it's been a really rewarding experience, and I've learnt a lot about the importance of patience and adaptability in teaching.
Additionally, I make sure to pre plan my lessons based upon the students weakest topics and I set weekly homework, which are combinations of weaker topics and key exam questions from past papers.
In my GCSE OCR Computer Science lessons, I provide a thorough understanding of core concepts such as algorithms, data representation, and computer systems. My lessons are designed to help students confidently tackle both the theoretical and practical aspects of the OCR GCSE Computer Science syllabus. We'll dive into programming languages like Python, explore computational thinking, and work through past exam questions to develop strong problem-solving skills. Whether you need support with Component 2 Coding and Algorithms, or understanding Component 1 Hardware topics, or preparing for exams, my goal is to ensure you fully grasp each topic and feel ready to excel in your Computer Science GCSE.
I can also adapt the lessons to suit other Computer Science exam boards, such as Edexcel IGCSE / GCSE on request. I have taught students before who have done differing exam boards to me, and have managed to adapt (Edexcel IGCSE). For reference my exam spec that I use is OCR J277 (but most basic ideas carry over). I have prior tutoring experience.
