About Joachim
Maths has been my most natural skill since I was 9! With an A* at maths A-level and a 1st in Economics at the University of Surrey, maths is what I know and teach.
I've tutored privately since school, and worked with over 30 GCSE students. The most common thing my students tell me when they start is 'maths just isn't for me!'.
I promise you that maths is for everyone. Every mind can learn it - it just needs the right teaching, the right way to think about each problem. Once you have the method, you repeat it. That's all there is to it. Learn the method, repeat.
I've also been fortunate enough to have some great maths teachers at school and university. I bring their approach and expertise into every lesson to help you build those methods.

More so than any other subject, maths requires a good understanding of how a person's logical thinking works, and I make sure to establish that before diving into any topics.
My lessons last 45-90 minutes. I combine theory and exam practice to get you in the strongest position ahead of exam season. I draw from a range of methods to make this work, from visual teaching for those who need a more conceptual focus, to repetitive practice to help lock in the formulaic nature of the subject.
I can promise that with every lesson, you'll start feeling more and more like maths is, in fact, for you!
