About Marion
Having received 12 grade 9 (also known as A**) GCSEs myself, I am sure that I know the key to success when it comes to these exams. This paired with several years of work experience at the renowned Kumon Centre tutoring programme, providing educational support to hundreds of students each with specific needs, has given me the perfect tools to be able to adapt a unique tutoring plan to your child.

I believe that GCSE Mathematics students of any level are fully capable of exceeding expectations with the right confidence and attitude to learning. Therefore I will create an ideal atmosphere for your child to build confidence, resilience and a thriving passion for learning so that they are able to conquer the world, not just their maths GCSE!
A Typical Session will consist of:
(Min 0-5)
We will start each session with a brief recap of their previous session by:
- allowing the child to explain what they can recall
- answering any questions they have about the topic
- completing a practice question
(Min 5-10)
Next we will establishing a clear aim of the session based on:
- their previous session
- school work the child has been completing throughout the week
- any areas the child feels they need the most immediate support in
(Min 10-55)
Then we will move into the main part of the session, consisting of:
- acquiring knowledge
- consolidating knowledge
The strategies used and time allocated on each of these will largely vary depending on each child’s individual needs.
(Min 55-60)
This is the final portion of the session in which we will:
- recap the main learning points
- answer any of the child’s questions
- allow the child to communicate their confidence level
- discuss to what extent the aim of the session has been achieved
