About Archie
Hi, I’m Archie. I’m 16 and currently studying A-level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Psychology, with the aim of eventually going into Medicine. I recently achieved Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and I’m now looking to help other students feel more confident with their GCSEs.
I’m a big believer in understanding concepts rather than just memorising information. For me, science makes much more sense when you understand why something happens, rather than just trying to remember a definition or a process. Once you understand the idea properly, it becomes much easier to remember and apply it to exam questions.
I’ve had experience helping my peers with difficult topics, and I really enjoy finding different ways to explain something until it finally clicks. I try to keep my lessons professional and focused, but I also take an enthusiastic and slightly fun approach. I want my lessons to feel more like learning with someone who genuinely enjoys science, rather than sitting through a boring lecture.
I can help with understanding difficult topics, revising content, working through exam questions and improving exam technique. My main aim is to make sure you actually understand what you're learning, so you can approach questions with confidence rather than relying on memorisation.

My main technique in my teaching is breaking down concepts students struggle with into small sections, in order for students to more easily understand these difficult topics at GCSEs. In my opinion, understanding the concepts is what gets them those higher marks in their exams, as just memorising information does not work. However, if they understand the concept of a topic, students are more likely to remember and recall that information more accurately during exam periods. My lessons are usually an hour in duration and also include exam practice at the end of lessons to make sure students thoroughly understand. The 3 9s in biology, chemistry, and physics last year allow me to be easily relatable to most of my students, giving them my best up-to-date ways how to ace their exams. My lessons are mainly aimed towards triple science students\combined science students GCSE AQA.
