About Rohan
I am a Mathematics tutor who genuinely enjoys teaching and believes that Maths is a subject anyone can master with the right guidance and mindset. I am a logical, calm, and positive person by nature, and I bring that same energy into my teaching. My aim is not only to teach Maths, but to help students see it as a subject that is clear, logical, and even enjoyable rather than something to be feared. I take great pride in building strong foundations for my students. I believe confidence comes from understanding, and understanding comes from clear explanations, patience, and encouragement. I enjoy motivating students to challenge themselves, approach problems fearlessly, and perform with confidence — whether that is in exams, competitions, or everyday classroom learning. I want my students to aim high, compete confidently, and believe in their own ability to succeed. As a tutor, I am calm, composed, and highly supportive, while also setting high expectations. I encourage students to ask questions freely, revisit topics as many times as needed, and develop independent problem-solving skills. I find real satisfaction in seeing my students grow in confidence and achieve results they once thought were out of reach. Their success is genuinely what motivates me the most. Alongside my passion for teaching, I bring professionalism and reliability to every lesson. I have an engineering background, formal teaching experience, and ongoing tutoring involvement. I am Enhanced DBS cleared, hold UK Government Security Clearance, and have Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK. I offer both online and in-person Mathematics tutoring in and around Birmingham, always maintaining a respectful, focused, and positive learning environment. My goal is simple: to help students gain clarity, confidence, and the belief that they can achieve their full potential in Mathematics and beyond.

I believe Mathematics is not a subject to be feared, but one to be understood, enjoyed, and mastered. My role as a tutor is to change how students see Maths — from something intimidating into something logical, interesting, and achievable. I focus on helping students realise that with the right explanation, practice, and mindset, Maths becomes common-sense rather than confusion. When students start believing “I can do this”, real progress follows. My teaching approach is highly student-centred and confidence-driven. I take time to understand each student’s level, learning style, and areas of difficulty before structuring lessons around their needs. I encourage students to ask as many questions as they want — there is no such thing as a bad or repeated question. If a student needs a particular topic explained multiple times, I am more than happy to revisit it without additional cost. My priority is genuine understanding, not rushing through content or watching the clock. Lessons are interactive, logical, and structured. I explain concepts step by step, regularly ask students to talk through their thinking, and guide them towards independent problem-solving. I combine patience with high expectations, motivating students to put in effort, think competitively, and aim high. This approach is particularly effective for students who lack confidence or feel “not good at Maths”, helping them become focused, resilient, and self-assured learners. While a typical lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes, I remain flexible when deeper understanding is needed. I believe learning should feel supportive and pressure-free, allowing students to absorb concepts fully and progress at a pace that builds long-term confidence and results. I have an engineering background and formal experience teaching Mathematics to school students, along with ongoing tutoring support for students preparing for assessments and exams. My lessons are suitable for GCSE Mathematics (Foundation and Higher), secondary school students, and learners who want to strengthen fundamentals, improve performance, or achieve high academic results. I offer both online and in-person tutoring in and around Birmingham.
