About Liliana
My name is Liliana and I am a recent undergraduate, therefore with plenty of up-to-date and firsthand experience of language learning in schools! I grew up in London speaking Spanish with my father, which is where I got my first ever taste for languages, along with my extended Spanish family. I developed my speaking and listening skills from there, but also went through the formal school process of doing my GCSE to ensure that I got my writing and reading up to my same conversational standard! Not only that, but I've studied many other languages throughout my time at school such as Mandarin, Latin and Ancient Greek, but I've found that my greatest passion is for modern languages. Thus, leading me to study Mandarin at university! As well as studying it abroad in Taipei and Beijing, which were truly wonderful experiences that have emphasised to me the wonder of language learning.

I have experience learning and teaching both Spanish and Mandarin and therefore am more than happy to share my experience and knowledge with students! I'm a native Spanish speaker who also experienced taking the Spanish GCSE in school because I wanted to make sure that I could read and write as well as I speak. I'm comfortable teaching students at any level, from KS3 up to GCSE. I have been studying Mandarin for many years through school as well as at courses in Taipei and Beijing, and have recently acquired my HSK 4 certificate and a B2 (CEFR) certificate. I am now studying Mandarin at the University of Edinburgh and am eager to help students going through a similar experience to my own, with language learning from beginners to GCSE (HSK 4).
