About Josephine
My name is Jo and I have just moved to Bristol on a year out from my general engineering degree in Sheffield. I love children and education and believe that affordable tutoring is essential, especially given how much time at school students have missed recently. I also have a passion for sustainability and social justice, spending a lot of my free time volunteering for and campaigning within movements related to this. These are some key points about me:
• I am in the process of receiving an advanced DBS check.
• I have professional caring experience in a residential home.
• A*AB in Further Maths A-level, Maths and Physics A-Levels. I have also continued to do a lot of maths in my degree.
• I am available at any time during the week and weekends.

I believe the most important thing when learning maths is to truly understand what you are doing and why. It can often seem a lot easier to just memorise a process then to truly grasp what each step means. But, this will lead to slight changes throwing students off in exams and make building upon topics much harder. So, I would make it my priority to achieve this even if it meant going back to basics or taking a deep dive into one particular topic. I would aim to do this in a fun and creative way because I know a lot of students get sick of things being explained in the same manner over and over again.
