During a lesson/tutoring session I:
Probe with Purpose: I ask students to explain their reasoning step-by-step. Where they stumble is usually where the misconception lives.
Reframe the Concept: If their mental model is broken, replace it with a cleaner one—analogies, visuals, or simpler language can reset their perspective.
Attack from Multiple Angles: Some students need a numerical example, others need a story, others a diagram. Hitting the same idea in 2–3 ways ensures the lightbulb moment.
Force the Recall: Students must do more than just explain—I make them articulate it back to me. The act of explaining cements clarity.
