Most recently, I have been tutoring French and German to A-level and GCSE students at the School of Classical Russian Ballet. This involved preparing them for their upcoming exams, introducing them to French and German literature, and using the specified syllabus to ensure the best possible preparation.
I have also had extensive experience in private tuition during my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I tutored three different students, including GCSE, A-level and undergraduate-level students, in French, German, English Literature and English Language. I was delighted when one of my students achieved an A grade in her German A-level, improving on her previous D grade.
I also find it very important to use my tutoring and language skills in voluntary settings. Every year since sixth form, I have been involved in tutoring and mentoring young people as a volunteer. Roles have included: peer mentor to GCSE language students at a local school, teaching English as a Foreign Language in a refugee settlement in Germany, and teaching English to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young adults in Cambridge. This voluntary work has undoubtedly improved my tutoring skills through allowing me to develop different ways of engaging students.
