About Anja
Hi everyone,
my name is Anja. I am originally from Germany, but moved to Scotland five years ago to read economics. I hold an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Aberdeen, and an MSc Economics from the University of Edinburgh. Both of which I attained the highest classifications in.
I am a self-proclaimed econometrics nerd, so anything related to statistics is my absolute passion. In my free time, I read fantasy books and bake anything from bread to fancy decorative cakes.
During my postgraduate studies, I have tutored my fellow classmates in econometrics/statistics in group sessions of 5 people each. We went through the course material together and worked on specific applied examples. During my final year as an undergraduate student, I tutored first and second year economics students on a one-on-one basis.
I am happy to help you with up to degree level statistics and economics. In addition, being a German native, if you want to practice your conversational skills, or need help with writing assignments for German class, I am there for you.
I am keen to adapt the tutorials to your specific needs and learning style. Some people like a more "playful approach", others need visual aids and some just need to see the formulas or theoretical background behing a topic to understand. So it is important to me that you let me know what exactly your requirements are, and I am confident I will be able to help you out.

Anja and I studied together this past year. I am not much of an applied statistics person, but her group revision classes really made a difference. She managed to ensure everyone understood the course content in those two hours we met every week. Even when I sometimes needed the more mathematical approach/background to a concept, she managed to explain it with ease
I studied at Edinburgh University with Anja as part of the Scottish graduate programme in economics. I was struggling with the econometrics course material as were several others. We grouped together and Anja took charge in going through the material together. She even found the time to work through "real-life" examples that we hadn't discussed in class. She made those revision tutorials fun and was very patient with everyone.
