About Lia
Hello, I’m Lia! Learning languages has always been my passion because they open the door to new cultures, perspectives and meaningful connections. I hold a Master’s degree in Translation and Interpretation and currently teach at the renovated Berlitz School in Sydney.
I specialise in helping students develop strong, practical language skills and prepare confidently for language certificates and exams. My teaching approach is structured, fast-paced and grammar-focused, while keeping lessons engaging and interactive. We work on all four key language skills: Reading Listening ️ Speaking ️ Writing
I combine course books with my own tailored materials, including exercises, vocabulary activities, real-life examples and interactive tasks. This allows me to adapt each lesson to the student's individual level, goals and learning style. I particularly enjoy working with children and bilingual students, helping them build confidence and develop their language naturally. I also specialise in preparing adults for professional and work-related situations in Germany, including communication, vocabulary and practical language skills for the workplace. Whether you are starting from scratch, preparing for a language certificate, improving your grammar or aiming for a high language level, I can help you build a strong foundation and make measurable progress. My approach is personalised and highly effective, combining listening, reading, and writing with engaging and relevant topics. You can choose from a list of topics, such as culture, environment, politics, literature, and more. A key technique I teach is shadowing, which helps you speak like a native. If you're starting from scratch, I recommend learning 5-10 new words per day—a method often used by interpreters. I will show you how to structure larger vocabulary lists and how to memorize 100-400 words effectively. I have experience working with both children and adults, especially in an NGO that promotes the German language abroad. With my passion for languages and my experience as an interpreter and in social projects.

Perfect! I’ve been learning German with Lia to prepare for six months in Berlin, and she’s been an outstanding tutor. Her lessons are clear, well-structured, and tailored to my goals.
