I offer a free consultation to with prospective students to discuss your goals and how I can best help you achieve them!
After completing my Master degree in English Literature and Cultural Studies at McMaster, I am embarking upon another academic journey in climate change at Waterloo University.
I am very excited to offer my tutoring services for both high school and university students.
As a former teaching assistant and marker at the undergraduate level I know exactly what English professors are in student work and what skills high school students will need to develop for academic success. My tutoring encourages the cultivation of the fundamental skills necessary for studying English at an academic level: Close reading, textual analysis, contextualization, and writing skills. Towards these aims, I help my students think about why English Studies is important. Why do we study this discipline?
While I will always tailor my lessons towards the needs of individual students, a typical session will include a mini lecture, focused on one particular skill (such as close reading, how to write an essay introduction, or how to approach exam questions) followed by an opportunity to practice the skill and receive feedback.
