About Sam
My name is Oladimeji Odutayo, and I am a dedicated online Maths tutor committed to helping students build confidence, improve their skills, and achieve outstanding results. Based in Greater Manchester, UK, I bring a strong academic background and a passion for clear, step-by-step teaching that makes maths easier to understand. I am currently studying for an MSc in Business Project Management at the University of Salford, where analytical thinking, problem-solving, and structured reasoning are key — the same skills I pass on to my students. My previous degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture Management further strengthened my mathematics, statistics, and data interpretation abilities. With experience working in people-focused roles as a Senior Care Assistant, I’ve developed patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. These qualities help me support learners of all levels — from primary school to GCSE and adult learners returning to education. In my lessons, I break down complex ideas into simple, practical steps, use real-life examples, and adapt my teaching style to match each student’s pace. 1. Warm-Up (5 minutes) A quick check-in and a few short questions to refresh previous topics. This helps you see what the student remembers and where they may need support. 2. Clear Learning Goal (2 minutes) You and the student agree on the topic for the lesson, such as: Fractions & decimals Algebra (equations, inequalities) Trigonometry Calculus Exam practice (GCSE/A-Level) 3. Step-by-Step Teaching (15–20 minutes) You explain the topic in a simple, friendly way using examples. You share your screen, demonstrate methods, and guide the student through the logic behind each step. 4. Guided Practice (10–15 minutes) The student solves questions with your help. You correct mistakes gently and show faster or easier methods. 5. Independent Practice (5–10 minutes) The student tries a few problems on their own while you observe. This builds confidence and helps you assess real understanding. 6. Quick Review & Feedback (5 minutes) You summarise what was learned and highlight improvements. You give short homework or extra practice if needed.
