About RICHARD
Hello, I'm Richard. I have spent more than 18 years working in engineering, manufacturing and technical education, and one of the most rewarding parts of my career has been helping people grow in confidence and develop new skills. Whether I was training engineers, maintenance technicians or machine operators across different countries, I discovered that everyone learns differently, and my role was to make even the most complex topics easy to understand.
I enjoy teaching because I genuinely believe that knowledge changes lives. Seeing someone grasp a difficult concept, gain confidence and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding. My aim is to create a relaxed, encouraging and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I look forward to helping you build practical skills, deepen your understanding and reach your full potential.

I believe the best learning happens when complex ideas are explained in a practical, engaging and supportive way. My teaching style focuses on understanding rather than memorising, using real-life examples from engineering, manufacturing and industry to help students build confidence and apply their knowledge.
Each lesson is typically 60 minutes and is tailored to the learner's goals, pace and experience. I begin by identifying areas that need improvement, explain concepts step by step, and reinforce learning through practical exercises, discussion and problem-solving.
I have over 18 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and technical training, including roles as a Global Technical Trainer with Tetra Pak and an Extrusion Trainer with Sealed Air. I am also completing the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5), further strengthening my skills in adult education and instructional design.
My lessons are suitable for secondary school students, tertiary students, apprentices, adult learners and professionals seeking to improve their knowledge of mechanical engineering, manufacturing, technical writing, workplace skills, maintenance, technical English or career development. Whether you're preparing for assessments, entering the workforce or looking to advance your career, I aim to make learning enjoyable, practical and relevant to your goals.
