About Jemma
I’m Jemma, a 16-year-old pianist who has been playing for ten years. Music has always been a big part of my life. I love listening to it and exploring different styles and pieces on my piano. I hope to inspire others to discover the same joy in music. I believe that strong early fundamentals are essential in shaping a pianist’s long-term growth. My lessons begin with simple introductions to the keyboard and basic technique, supported by fun, interactive activities. Although I was trained classically and will teach with that foundation, I encourage students to explore pieces they personally enjoy from all genres. A solid classical base will give them the freedom to play any music they love later on. As a new tutor, I am open to all feedback and will gladly adapt my lessons to suit the needs and pace of each student. All students need is enthusiasm and a basic keyboard or piano at home.

Teaching methodology: I focus on building a strong foundation in piano for absolute beginners. Emphasis will be on finger technique, note reading and simple pieces. Lessons are interactive and adapt to each student’s pace, and I’m always open to feedback to improve the quality of my lessons.
Length of each lesson: Each lesson will be 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the needs and progress of the student.
Qualifications / experience: I have passed Grade 7 classical piano under ABRSM and achieved Distinction in Grade 5 music theory. While I am a new tutor, I am enthusiastic about the subject, patient and committed to teaching.
Who my lessons are for: My lessons are idea, for absolute beginners of any age who want to start learning piano.
