About Allison
I am a passionate highschool student who feels passionate about giving back to my community through helping younger students and preparing them for the future. As an immigrant who moved to Canada in grade 5, I struggled tremendously in the subject of English and had a hard time feeling confident in my skills. But thanks to supportive teachers and friends, I was able to improve quickly and gain more confidence in speaking, writing and reading English.

My teaching style involves a lot of hands on activities and participation from students. A typical lesson plan includes a short lesson on a particular skill, a small reading comprehension exercise, and some speaking improvisation. As a tutor, my teaching style is unique because it focuses more on the engagement of students rather than jamming an overwhelming amount of knowledge. This approach ensures that students associate learning with something positive. My lessons are perfect for students at all levels from grades 1 to 8.
