About Jennifer
I earned my Associate's in Arts from Cypress Community College in Humanities with an emphasis in Liberal Arts. English was a big part of earning my degree there. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in English and Film and Media Studies. In addition to my degrees, I am currently certified as a TEFL Instructor to teach English as a Foreign Language. I have been teaching elementary-age children in China via a webcam for almost two years. I am also a mother to an elementary school-age child. I approach each lesson with patience, understanding, energy, and empathy.

When I work with a student, I try to get to know about them first. I try to understand their likes and dislikes, as well as their strengths and where we can help make more strengths. I can look at previous materials to create lessons from there, as well as their current schoolwork. My experience is with primarily elementary-age students but as part of my TEFL certification, I did work with adult learners from other countries as well. I have a background in performing in theater as well so I am able to improvise, think on my feet, bring energy and excitement to every lesson.
