About Melanie
Hi, I'm so glad you're here! I hold a bachelor’s degree in professional writing with a major in Fine Art, and I'm currently completing my Master's in Teaching. Being able to help students grow as writers and find inspiration is my genuine passion.
At the heart of everything I do is my creativity and from my fine art studies I have learned to see things from many angles and I bring that same spirit of exploration into every writing lesson, whether we're crafting a short story, structuring an essay, or finding the right words for a big idea.
I tutor students from primary through high school, across all genres of writing. I understand ADHD and tailor my teaching to fit how each individual student learns best because I believe every writer has their own voice, and my job is to help you find yours. Many students tell me they feel calm and supported in our sessions, which makes it easier to take creative risks and grow with confidence.

I tutor English writing across all genres from primary through high school. I believe every student has their own style. I understand ADHD and scaffold lessons to fit how you learn, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Students often tell me I have a calming, steady presence that makes it easier to focus and take risks with their writing. I try a variety of methods, breaking tasks into manageable steps, adjusting pacing, using different explanations until one connects with you, to help you build real understanding, not just get through an assignment.
