My Approach as a Tutor

Teaching Method and Techniques

My teaching method is student-centered, focusing on the individual needs and learning styles of each student. I use a combination of direct instruction, interactive activities, and real-world applications to make the material engaging and relevant. I believe in fostering a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as these are essential for learning.

Typical Lesson Plan

Warm-Up: Begin with a brief review of the previous lesson to reinforce concepts.

Introduction: Present the new topic with a clear explanation and relevant examples.

Guided Practice: Work through problems together, providing immediate feedback and assistance.

Independent Practice: Allow students to try problems on their own, offering help as needed.

Review and Recap: Summarize the key points of the lesson and answer any remaining questions.

Homework Assignment: Provide practice problems to reinforce the day's lesson.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor

Personalized Approach: I tailor my lessons to each student's unique needs and learning style.

Multidisciplinary Expertise: I am proficient in teaching English, Spanish, and math, allowing me to support students across multiple subjects.

Interactive Learning: I incorporate various interactive tools and real-world examples to make learning more engaging.

Academic Background: My education from UC Berkeley and upcoming master's program at USC provide a strong foundation in both subject matter and teaching techniques.
