About Freya
Hey, I'm Freya!
I'm a UTS graduate working in the Film Industry with a long, fruitful history of teaching and academics.
I've spent about 6 years developing and honing a unique, engaging and collaborative teaching style not only through my work as a Tutor and Casual Academic, but also through my time as a student! The techniques that I have used to help myself get over stress, anxiety and academic hurdles have been key in helping bring out the best in my students as well! Over my academic career I've built a keen understanding of how to identify what markers are looking for, the way that life can get in the way of being able to meet these targets and how to deveop adaptable ways of tackling this!
The thing that time and time again has proven to be the most valuable and successful aspect of my teaching, is building a strong sense of understanding and trust between myself and my students. Study techniques and schedules are, of course, key in high-achievement, but long-term improvement in my students has always been heavily guided by this trust and agency - tackling their unique problems by working together!

Qualifications: I have 6 years experience tutoring at both a Highschool and University level including coaching students through Thesis-writing and working as a Casual Academic at UTS for the Faculty of Transcisciplinary Innovation.
Lessons: My sessions are typically 60 minutes, but can be longer/shorter on request. My techniques and methodologies are carefully tailored to the needs of each individual student! My aim is to foster a strong collaborative environment between my students and I so that we can adapt together to changing needs. The content can include writing exercises, tailored assignment help, long-term thesis coaching and research-skills, joint-analysis of texts, debate and discussion or a range of new methods shaped by the student's specific strengths, interests and weaknesses.
My lessons are for University Students of all ages.
