About Barbara
Hi I'm Barbara! I a have just graduated from the University of Oxford for English Language and Literature. I aim to create a friendly, welcoming and collaborative environment with my students, as I am a sociable and creative person who loves to help others. I genuinely enjoy teaching and think that I could really help people out.

My main aim in tutoring will be to get students to a point where they will be able to look at an exam paper and understand exactly what to do by themselves. I will begin the lesson by going through work that students have done for me and their school teachers previously. We will go through the students problem areas, as well as strengths. At this point I will take in depth notes that will provide essay structures and exam technique for my student. From here, for English lessons I will go over how to apply this exam technique to a text. I will make sure that students are quoting enough, as well as making sure that they are answering the terms of the question. Likewise, I will ask the student if they have any questions and clarify any problems or confusion that they might have. My lessons are highly individualised, focusing specifically on a piece of work that has been written by a student, or analysing a portion of the text that they are interested in or have questions about.
