She is really smart and likes helping people

Jade is my granddaughter and of course, I have known her since she was born. :) As a young girl, one of the things we would do when she was spending time in my home, was play "school" Even when she was quiet young, she was serious about "school" and would spend a lot of time creating lesson plans. She would give me written instructions, activities, (math and reading/writing), sample questions and then tests. I was impressed with the thoroughness of her procedures.... She had a clear plan and executed it in a timely manner with expected outcomes and thoughtful comments on the assignments. She was young - likely 7 or so and I was just blown away with her understanding of all of the components necessary for a learning activity.

Then, as the years rolled by and she gained two little brothers, she naturally became their private tutors... The boys were just drawn to her and actually preferred her over others to assist them with their homework assignments. That is when it became apparent that she just enjoyed helping others and it wasn't just a game she played with her grandmother.

As she progressed through her educational experience, she would often tell me that her teachers would solicit her help with classmates that were struggling in one subject or another. She would tell me that she was "helping" them after hours - online and by phone - and even at church where she was in leadership roles - selected by her pastor and other church officials.

To me, the confidence her teachers had in her abilities to 'help' others was a testament to her character, knowledge and ability to connect with and improve learning experiences for her peers and younger students.

As an educator myself, I understand the different learning and teaching styles, so when I saw her addressing those at such an early age I knew two things. 1. Her first teachers had done an excellent job in Jade's classrooms because she followed a deliberate and methodical procedure for effective learning... Often checking for understanding.... and secondly, I knew she just genuinely enjoyed helping others.

I know I might be a bit biased... But I really know this young lady and believe wholeheartedly that she has a gift and talent making her an excellent choice for tutoring. I believe that her ability to connect with others personally and engage with them will promote a comfortable and productive learning experience for students that just need a little something extra beyond the classroom. I would highly recommend her.

Jade is a highly motivated hard working young lady. She has proven herself again and again and has done her best to exceed all expectations given to her and is highly determined to teach anyone who crosses her path. As a follower of the lord and hard working idol that even I look up to, she’s someone that’ll be the first person who comes to mind when I need help.
