The way I do it is:-
- assess the student's strengths and opportunities in the subject
- check their fundamental knowledge
- make a plan for teaching them
- assess frequently, communicate appreciation, or feedback; encourage them to get better;
Performance comes easy when the basics are right and the knowledge is firm.
