About Nathan
I am currently located in Los Angeles, CA, and I spend my time performing in orchestras, hand making reeds, and of course practicing!
I have worked with students ranging between fourth grade to adult learners. I don’t argue with the fact the bassoon is quite difficult, and I find that my students benefit from a totally individualized approach.
In our lessons, we would work together to identify goals like audition preparation, solo repertoire, orchestral repertoire, etc. In our time together, we would work to find ways that you can independently work to grow. Our lesson time will be spent checking in on your work and providing additional information for your journey!

Nathan has bassoon degrees from the Colburn School and Indiana University in addition to a degree in music education from Ohio State University.
With over 25 students, Nathan has taught bassoonists who have gone to attend Allstate Ensembles, study music in college, and perform on stages across America.
Nathan himself has performed around the world in China, Puerto Rico, New York City and more. With extensive academic work in bassoon and education, Nathan can confidently and effectively instruct bassoon students on music from the Renaissance to today!

Details
I am happy to offer different length lessons, however 60 minute lessons truly are the best and allow enough time to cover all information students need.
Depending on if you would like to study in person, I may need to charge a small travel fee if you are far away.
