It is okay to ask for help. I love helping people, and I love ensuring that they do well in the classroom. Depending on the subject, I cater lessons toward students’ syllabus and/or subject area in which they are having trouble with.
Furthermore, I will create a diagnostic test that caters toward the subject the student needs help with in order to calibrate his or her initial knowledge and ability.
In the case that a student is learning introductory chemistry and the student wishes for a quick, 5 week introductory lesson plan, the student and I will have an initial lesson where we go through all of the subject material that will be discussed in his/her class and create a lesson plan like the one below:
Week 1: Unit Conversions, Dimensional Analysis, Significant Figures, Scientific Notation
Week 2: Lab Equipment; chromatography, distillation and filtration
Week 3: Matter: properties, states of matter
Week 4: Atomic number and Mass Number, Atomic Theories
Week 5: Electron Configurations, Quantum Numbers, Bohr Model, Atomic Spectra
Depending on the intensity of learning in which the student and/or guardians want, I will either slow down or speed up the learning process so that the student will be well equipped for whatever course they are taking.
I will make sure that the student understands what he or she is learning from me so that there will not be any negative consequences in the classroom.
Lessons are designed for anyone within Elementary to High School who need help in math and science. II can also help with introductory college courses.
