About Rachel
After graduating with a degree in education from Florida Gulf Coast University, I moved back to my hometown in California. I began teaching as a substitute and was soon hired as a full-time teacher for the San Joaquin County Office of Education. I taught 7-12th grade Math and History at our local juvenile hall. I taught for 3 years before leaving to become a stay at home mom, in 2013. I have been homeschooling my children for the past 8 years. I also began a home school co-op last year. I opened it up to students who need extra help and I have been working with a couple of the students to build their math skills.

Throughout my years teaching in the public school setting and now as a homeschooling mom, I have learned many ways to explain different math concepts to help my students. Every child is unique in their learning style, and rather than focusing on how everyone else does it, my goal is to find a way that the child will understand best. I can help with homework assignments or work on building understanding of different math concepts to help with mastery.
