About Oluwaseun
Most students who struggle with maths are not bad at maths. Something further back never got filled in. I find that gap and rebuild from there. PhD scientist, former university lecturer, nine years teaching everyone from teenagers to postgraduates. Patient and thorough.

My teaching methodology
I diagnose before I teach. The first thing I do with any new student is work out where their understanding actually stops, because a student struggling with calculus is often really struggling with algebra from three years earlier. Teaching new material on top of an unfilled gap wastes everyone's time.
From there I use four techniques consistently:
Talking through reasoning. I ask students to narrate what they are doing as they work. This surfaces the misunderstanding in a way that looking at a wrong answer never does.
Questions instead of answers. When a student is stuck, I ask the question that unsticks them rather than demonstrating the solution. The aim is that they eventually ask themselves that question without me.
Building methods rather than presenting them. We derive where a formula comes from before using it. Understood methods survive exam pressure; memorised ones tend not to.
Error analysis on past papers. For exam students, we do not simply work through papers. We analyse where marks were lost and why. It is nearly always a small number of recurring habits, and correcting those is usually worth more than covering new content.
I set short pieces of work between lessons and review them at the start of the next session. Practice between lessons is where most of the progress actually happens.
Lesson length
Standard lessons are 60 minutes, which suits most secondary students and works well for regular weekly support.
I offer 90 minute lessons for undergraduate statistics, dissertation and data analysis support, and intensive exam preparation, where working through a full problem or a complete past paper needs the extra time.
The first session is a shorter conversation to establish where you are, what you are aiming for, and whether I am the right person to help. I would rather tell you honestly if I am not.
My qualifications and experience
I hold a PhD in Geosciences from the University of Aberdeen, along with a Master's and Bachelor's in Applied Geology. I have twenty one peer-reviewed publications.
My teaching experience covers three areas. I lectured in applied science at university level for three years, teaching mathematics-intensive modules to large cohorts and co-supervising more than fifteen student research projects. I spent four years as a Teaching Associate at the University of Aberdeen, running practical and quantitative sessions across four undergraduate modules and supervising an MSc dissertation. Most recently I designed and led a five-day machine learning programme for thirty six students aged thirteen to seventeen, teaching abstract technical concepts from scratch to a mixed-ability group.
That range matters. Teaching a postgraduate and teaching a fourteen-year-old require completely different approaches, and I have done both regularly.
Who my lessons are for
Secondary students working on maths and building confidence, particularly those who have decided they are "not a maths person" and need that assumption dismantled.
Undergraduates struggling with statistics, quantitative methods, or the mathematical components of science degrees.
Dissertation and project students who need help with data analysis, statistical testing, and presenting quantitative results.
Complete beginners in Python, of any age, including adults returning to study or retraining.
I work with students across the ability range. I am equally comfortable with someone rebuilding fundamentals from a low base and someone capable who wants to push into the top grades.
