About SHANGRAN
Hello, my name is SHANGRAN NIE and I was born in the eastern region of Inner Mongolia, China, which is one of the most standardized regions for Mandarin. I went on to study Financial Mathematics at Hong Kong Baptist University for my undergraduate degree, and then chose to come to the University of Sydney for my postgraduate studies.
I chose to teach Chinese because I want more people in the world to understand Chinese and learn it. Although Chinese is the most spoken language in the world, it is still not the most popular language. Therefore, I hope to do my part in promoting Chinese language.

As a Chinese teacher, I have the following teaching methods and methodologies:
1. Individualized Instruction: I will create individualized lesson plans based on students' needs and levels to ensure that each student gets the most out of his/her learning.
2. Immersion: I try to use Chinese as much as possible in the classroom to help students better adapt to and understand the Chinese language environment.
3. Interactive teaching: I encourage students to actively participate in classroom activities, including role-playing, discussion and group work, in order to improve students' oral expression and communication skills.
4. Multimedia teaching: I will use a variety of teaching resources, such as video, audio and interactive games, to help students better understand and master the Chinese language and culture.
Ensure that the length of each lesson is usually 45 minutes to 1 hour, which will ensure that students stay focused and concentrated in class.
In additional, I have a Bachelor's degree in Financial Mathematics from Hong Kong Baptist University. Currently, I am a student of Master of Business at the University of Sydney. As a native Chinese speaker, I believe I have the absolute ability to pass on more knowledge to those who have a passion for Chinese.
