About Soma

Since I became interested in literature during my middle school years, I was drawn to the wonderful expression skills in Japanese writing. Since then, I have been reading a wide variety of texts, from stories to explanatory articles, every day. I would be happy if I could share the expressive power of the Japanese language, which fascinated me, with all of you, my students. Additionally, I also enjoy learning about the old beauty of Japan, such as classical literature and the "Hyakunin Isshu" (the anthology of 100 poems). I would like to teach that as well. My favorite poem from the "Hyakunin Isshu" is: "See-o hayami iwa ni sekaru-taki-gawa no ware-te mo sue-ni awan to zo omou"

Japanese

I think that the most important thing to learn Japanese is to get used to fundamental concepts of Japanese. For instance, basic particles like は (wa), が (ga), を (wo), and に (ni), which are essential to understanding sentence structure. Additionally, Japanese uses a Subject-Object-Verb (SOV) structure. For example, "I eat sushi" would be "I sushi eat" in Japanese. Therefore, I focus on to teach the fundamental knowledge.
