About Charlotte
Shortly after receiving my BFA Sculpture from Pratt Institute in 2020, I dove into the world of art education. I quickly realized that sharing my art experiences through teaching was something that I needed in order to feel complete in my own art practice. Being able to connect with artists from all backgrounds through art and sharing the gift of creating is something that I see as invaluable. Throughout the past several years, I have taught artists, ranging from age 1 to 65. Along with art teaching, I have 5 years of experience as an early childhood educator. I have taught in programs mainly centered in student-led philosophies which always highlighted children's natural creative interest! Although my degree is in sculpture, I have teaching experience in a wide range of mediums such as drawing, painting, ceramics and printmaking. My main goal as an instructor is to assist each student on their own unique art-making journey. I believe that every creative has a path that is as individual as their artwork.

Understanding your intent as the artist is my top priority as a tutor. I will assist in setting personal goals that we will work towards throughout the lesson. Every artist's creative journey is unique and ever-evolving. With my adaptive teaching approach, I aim to honor that. Whether it be improving pieces for a portfolio, or diving into a brand new medium, we will put your goals into the forefront.
To begin the lesson, whether in the realm of drawing, painting or mixed-media, we will begin with a simple sketch with pencil on paper. From there, we will be able to dive deeper into more specific mediums and realms of art making that align with your interests!
My teaching approach is geared towards what the artist is seeking to gain from our lessons. My knowledge of the modern art world, art school experience and vast amount of educational experience allows me to be a helpful tool in getting you to where you want to be.
