About Mustafa
I have previously taught as a Maths teacher for a year, achieving a QTS in the process. I have also taught as a private tutor for more than two years, teaching both small groups and giving 1 to 1 lessons.
I am a very laid-back teacher, who does not get frustrated when a student struggles. I also like to use a research-based approach when teaching, looking at why students may struggle with topics and the best possible methods to deliver a lesson. I usually use the CGP revision books as guidance but a lot of my explanations and practices come from discussions with exceptional teachers, in which we break down a topic into as simple steps as possible, so it is easy for the students to follow, and then equip them with the necessary skills to tackle exam questions.

My lessons follow a consistent and simple approach. I start every lesson with retrieval practice. This is so that students can solidify previously learnt topics and commit them to long term memory.
Whilst going through models, I break them down into easy steps that students tend to be able to follow. I aim to teach students how to use models and once they become comfortable, I seek to develop their understanding of the topic by going over common misconceptions. I follow a researched based approach that has proven results.
I aim to provide as much practice as possible to the students so that they can gain fluency. This may be done inside the lesson or through homework. I also provide a lot of exam questions for them to work through.
