About Mallory
I have led my professional learning community, PLC, in developing lessons that encourage students to take responsibility for their learning in the classroom while giving them the scaffolding tools to succeed and meet them at their academic level. I have also lead professional development sessions on standard-based grading practices at the district level. These practices encourage teachers to focus on tiering their lessons to meet and extend beyond the learning target statement so that students maximize their learning. Additionally, standard-based grading practices encourage students to adopt a “fail forward” mindset in which they can continually try learning and practicing skills and concepts until they achieve mastery.

I have taught before, during, and after the COVID-19 epidemic and therefore am equipped to handle a variety of teaching methods both in person and online. I am certified in the state of Texas to teach any science subject from grades 7-12 but have a passion for teaching chemistry and biology. I have taught at the high school level for 4 years and enjoy helping students have fun learning in STEM subjects!
