About Thilina
I’m a dedicated tutor with a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and Economics, and I’ve always enjoyed helping students find clarity and confidence in their learning. Having benefited from great teachers myself, I’m passionate about giving that same encouragement to others — especially when a subject feels challenging. I love seeing the moment when a concept “clicks” and a student realises they can do it. My approach is calm, supportive, and structured, helping each learner build strong skills and genuine confidence that lasts well beyond the classroom.

I believe learning should feel encouraging, clear, and confidence-building. My goal is to help students truly understand what they’re learning — not just memorise it. In Mathematics, I focus on breaking down tricky ideas into simple steps and showing how they connect to real life, particularly drawing and not drawing from the experiences I myself have faced. In English, I help students improve their reading, writing, and communication skills through discussion, examples, and plenty of practice. Lessons usually last about an hour, and I tailor each one to suit the student’s pace and goals. I like to mix explanation with short activities and quick progress checks so every session feels productive and positive. I hold a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and Economics and have experience tutoring students aged 8–16 at various levels — from those who need extra support to those aiming to achieve top grades.
