About Sebastian

Hi there! I'm Seb, an acting graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I'm a cheerful Welshman, with keen interests in photography (which I've used as a side-hustle for over four years now, mainly in actor's headshots), rugby, F1, TV & film. I want to teach and reach new people because I love acting, and I love the chance to discuss it with other likeminded people. I've performed with the National Youth Theatre of Wales, National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and performed for King Charles at his Welsh residence. I've got a wealth of experience, in the professional world and educational world, in terms of acting, and I've made plenty of mistakes. It's a hard career to negotiate, and sometimes you're left feeling lost, especially at a younger age, because there's no rule-book. It isn't as easy as just 'going to drama school' because the places are so few-and-far-between. It isn't as easy as just doing the right A Levels and then appearing in theatre/film. And if I can help, anyone, in any way, to pave the beginning of a career in the arts, then it would be my privilege to do so.

First thing to know about me is that I'm extremely flexible. I want to start to get to know you, what you'd like to go into, whether you just need to pass exams/practical exams, or want advice about the big bad world. And we can tailor your experience from there. I'm a recent graduate from a leading UK drama school, with a First-Class Honours (not that the grade is particularly what matters, it's about the hours, hours, hours of training you get.) I've got professional experience in theatre and film, used to direct at Stage Door 1 Youth Theatre and have previous experience in tutoring.

If we choose to work together, it won't just be you doing the work. I'll work as hard as you to fully immerse myself in the text, marking schemes, past papers; what people are looking for and how you can let yourself shine.

If it's passing practical exams, how you can study the mark scheme, delve deep into the text, and craft a performance that is entirely fulfilling and different to what the examiner has seen before. Find how we can establish some commonality between you and the character, where you can provide real, lived-in performances of a character that is so different to yourself. Classes for this are an hour.

If it's passing written exams, how we can express exactly that rush you get when performing into words. How to articulate your fully-fleshed ideas, why you think they'd work, and their pertinence to the text. Looking at mark schemes, examples of highest graded answers and why they work so well, and how you can emulate that but using your own authentic voice and what you bring to the text. Classes for this are an hour.

If it's auditioning for drama school, let's get to work. I auditioned for four years before getting into the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, ending up on countless reserve lists and really having to figure out my own method and process. Drama school auditions are no-joke. They're hard, not just because the numbers are against you, but because you aren't auditioning for a role; you feel like you're being judged solely on your personality, rather than the fit for a character. Classes for this are an hour, with the option to press on longer.
