With time in the industry and experience in challenging high school and college courses, as well as time spent teaching 6th graders: I know how to effectively communicate challenging concepts to students. I intend to bring laid back professionalism to the sessions and provide a knowledgeable voice while also facilitating playful banter to maximize productivity.

I believe the best approach is patience. Nobody learns at the same rate, so I never treat a concept as a given, no matter how trivial.
I would first have a look at the syllabus of the class and determine the best start point for lessons. If no syllabus is provided, I would then create a quick test to understand which concepts come easy and which need more attention.
For lesson content, I will find the best test prep book on the subject and source questions from there. I have found sources are not only effective at teaching a concept, but also for preparing students for standardized tests such as the SAT, AP, or HSPT exams.
Depending on wants or needs, I may assign homework between sessions to prevent concepts from being forgotten.
