About Maria
I'm Maria, your science-nerd-turned-fitness-coach-turned-tutor (I know, I'm a wild combo). I've always loved helping people learn, whether it was my university peers stressing over lab reports or my younger sisters pretending they "totally get it" when they definitely didn't. What I've realized is this: teaching is my thing. I love breaking down tricky concepts, watching the lightbulb moment happen and helping students feel proud of themselves. That's why I'm jumping into tutoring - to make learning less scary, more doable and maybe a little fun. I'm all about patience, positive energy and explaining things in a way that actually makes sense. Whether your child needs a confidence boost, help catching up or someone who won't make them feel embarrassed for asking questions, I've got them covered. I offer personalized tutoring for primary and secondary students who want to build confidence, improve their grades and actually enjoy learning. I focus on understanding, not memorizing - we will break down concepts into simple, practical explanations. Active learning by using examples, problem-solving and guided practice. Personalized sessions where every lesson is tailored to the student's learning style and school curriculum. We will work on creating a positive, patient and encouraging environment to boost your confidence. The lesson will take 45 minutes which is perfect for maintaining focus and getting quality practice in. I offer online and face-to-face lessons anywhere in the ACT region on weekdays. While I'm new to tutoring, I have spent years helping my peers at university, my two younger sisters who are 4 and 13 years younger than me and their friends with their homework, study support and exam preparations. This experience has shaped my ability to explain things clearly, adapt to different personalities and make learning less stressful and more enjoyable. My lessons are for primary school and high school students - students needing help with understanding content, study skills or confidence building.
