Teaching Method and Techniques
My teaching approach is learner-centered, focusing on adapting to the individual needs and learning styles of each student. I employ a blend of methods such as:
Socratic Method: I ask guiding questions to encourage critical thinking and deeper understanding.
Active Learning: Students are encouraged to engage with the material through discussions, problem-solving exercises, and case studies.
Scaffolded Learning: I break down complex concepts into smaller, manageable parts, gradually increasing difficulty as the student gains confidence.
Feedback Loops: I provide continuous, constructive feedback, allowing students to reflect on their learning process and make improvements.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson plan with me would include:
Introduction (5-10 minutes):
Brief review of previous material.
Outline of today’s objectives.
Engagement with an opening question or thought experiment.
Core Content (20-30 minutes):
Explanation of new concepts, using examples and analogies.
Interactive elements such as questions, discussions, or mini-exercises.
Visual aids or diagrams to illustrate complex ideas.
Application (15-20 minutes):
Case studies, problem-solving tasks, or real-world applications.
Group discussions or individual exercises to reinforce learning.
Summary and Reflection (5-10 minutes):
Recap of key points.
Reflection on what was learned and how it applies to broader contexts.
Homework or follow-up reading suggestions.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
I focus on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment. My ability to simplify complex topics while making connections between theoretical concepts and real-world applications sets me apart. I also emphasize ethical considerations, especially in fields like public health, encouraging students to think beyond the textbook.
Target Audience
My lessons are tailored for:
Early childhood Education- to grade 12
This approach is designed to empower learners to not only grasp the material but to think critically and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
