About Kris
I have been teaching various subjects since becoming a park ranger for the United States National Park Service and have experience tutoring college students in Spanish. While in College I explored music, literature and culture in and outside of the classroom. Often I could be seen chatting with my peers, reading, listening to music in Spanish. This became no more apparent than when I researched the environmental pathogens of Patagonian forests, using my Spanish reading skills to assess and interpret local reports and resources before synthesizing the information and using it to craft my final project for a Senior course.
Since I've graduated I've traveled to far and wide. I even lived in Argentina for three months. It was life changing to go abroad, navigate the world, and live using the language thatI've mastered.

I tend to focus on topics of interest with my students and random day to day events. By doing this we end up expanding our vocabularly and gaining the words we need to talk about what actually interests us. The end goal for many of my students is to be able to hold a conversation and explore topics in Spanish. So we should talk, sing, and read what we like.
I can best assist those with a basic background in Spanish, who have already taken at least two classes.
I like to think that I have a lot of stories to share and there are millions of stories to explore together. If that's what fires you up, then please come find me.
