About Nathan
I have graduated with honors from UNCC while being an adult student with three children. I worked hard but also found enjoyment in helping my fellow students improve their own education by helping them better understand the material. I worked at a children's home and helped multiple students in our care improve their grades, with grade level ranging from middle school through high school and early college. Very few things in education have to be rote memorization. For example, if you know how to work a washing machine (just washing your own clothes), you don't have to memorize the user manual of every model of washing machine out there, it will just take a quick familiarization with a new machine and you will be comfortable operating it. It is the same with your education: build the foundation of knowledge and any level of education will be attainable.

My teaching plan is simple: study the material and how the student currently understands the problems, then re-explain in a way that will help the student better understand how to solve the problem, finding a method that works for the student. My approach is student focused, taking into account that every person has a different perspective and method of learning that work best for them. It is too easy as an adult to assume that everyone understands the subject matter the same way you do. I will work to ensure your student finds the way they understand the subject material and build from that foundation, as that will not only help increase their knowledge level but also work towards instilling in them a joy of learning.
