About Tianqi
Hi! This is Tianqi, and I am a passionate and dedicated Chinese language teacher. As a native Chinese speaker, I have a strong linguistic foundation and extensive experience in language teaching. I hold a Master’s degree in TESOL from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation. My academic background has given me a deep understanding of language learning theories and effective teaching methodologies, allowing me to tailor lessons to students of different proficiency levels. In the field of education, I have experience as a volunteer English teacher, where I designed lesson plans, developed interactive classroom activities, and applied structured teaching methods such as PPP (Presentation, Practice, Production) to help students improve their language skills in an engaging and supportive environment. These experiences have strengthened my ability to inspire students’ interest in language learning and enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Additionally, I am proficient in various digital tools such as Office and Zoom, allowing me to incorporate technology into my teaching to create interactive and dynamic lessons. My lessons cater to learners of all ages and proficiency levels, from complete beginners to advanced students looking to refine their communication skills. I believe that every learner has great potential, and my goal is to provide patient and professional guidance to help students build confidence and make steady progress in their Chinese learning journey. Each lesson typically lasts between 1 to 1.5 hours, with flexibility to adjust based on students’ needs. I can teach students aged 15 to 45, whether they are complete beginners or have some prior knowledge. My teaching approach is tailored to each student’s proficiency level and learning goals. I have previous experience as a volunteer teacher, where I developed strong instructional skills. I incorporate interactive teaching methods such as situational dialogues, task-based learning, and gamified activities to enhance student engagement and language proficiency.
