About Jiaqi
Hi, I'm Jiaqi! I'm a multilingual pre-service teacher currently studying a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at Monash University, specializing in Mathematics and Digital Technologies. I’m passionate about helping students succeed because I’ve been in their shoes—I know that learning can be challenging, but with the right support and approach, everyone can improve and even enjoy the process. I see myself not just as a teacher, but also as a lifelong learner. I’m always reflecting and experimenting with different ways to explain ideas clearly and make learning engaging. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop independent thinking skills, and feel proud of their progress. I achieved raw study scores of 50 in Further Mathematics, 44 in Mathematical Methods, 43 in Specialist Mathematics, and 40 in Physics, so I understand what it takes to succeed in VCE. I speak Mandarin fluently, some Cantonese, and English, which allows me to support students from diverse backgrounds more effectively.

Hi, I am currently studying a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at Monash University, training to become a qualified high school teacher. My teaching areas are Mathematics and Digital Technologies, and I also have the skills to tutor high school Physics. My tutoring approach is student-centered and focused on building deep conceptual understanding. I use questioning techniques, visual representations, and real-life examples to support students’ thinking. I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and actively participate. Typical lessons run for 60 minutes and are tailored to each student’s learning needs, whether that involves revising key topics, preparing for assessments, or developing problem-solving strategies. Qualifications and experience: As a pre-service teacher, I have completed teaching placements in secondary schools and have experience planning and delivering structured lessons aligned with the curriculum. I also bring a strong academic background in Math and Science. Who I teach: I offer lessons for secondary school students (Years 7–12) across a range of ability levels, including VCE Math, junior Physics, and support for Digital Technologies.
