I strongly believe in "positive reinforcement" techniques, like verbal praise and virtual high-fives! A typical lesson is 30-35 minutes. I let my students pick their favorite things to write about. I am VERY patient with my students. I meet each student at his/her own level. I have 12+ years of teaching in public schools and online. My lessons are fun and interactive. We play an educational game (if time permits) at the end of class as well.
