About Órla
Patience, approachability and encouragement are, in my opinion, some of the most important traits in a tutor. I seek to provide a safe space for students to feel free to make mistakes and learn from them, in order to reach their full potential. I have consistently achieved top grades in language exams since I was a teenager and have over 2 years of experience living abroad in France, Spain, Russia and Colombia. I have experience tutoring online, in schools, in language camps and in a university, with my students achieving great results. I am DBS checked and have completed training in safeguarding of minors in education.

Whether you are looking for someone to help you reach your full potential or just enjoy languages as a hobby (let's be honest, Duolingo can only take you so far ;) ), my lessons will be perfect for you. I am a great listener and will tailor any lessons to what the student feels will help them. My teaching includes games, reading, writing, listening, speaking, memory-boosting and much more. I have three years of experience teaching children, teenagers and adults of different nationalities and levels, including special educational needs, so I am used to thinking "outside the box" to find new ways of explaining things. This means my lessons are suitable for all levels and ages, and can be tailored from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I achieved First Class Honours in my BA in Modern Languages (French, Spanish and Russian) from the University of Bristol and A*A*A* in French, Spanish and maths A levels and an A in AS level psychology. Achieving this despite having special educational needs means I can relate to any students who are sometimes slightly slower to wrap their heads around things than their classmates and who feel pressure to achieve higher grades in their studies.

We would thoroughly recommend Órla as a tutor. We have known Órla and her family for 16 years and Órla has spent time living with us, caring for and tutoring our young children during Covid lockdown.
Órla is kind, patient and extremely supportive and encouraging. She adapts her teaching style to the individual needs of the tutee and creates a really positive and fun teaching environment.
