About Jamie
My name is Jamie and I have been a student for most of my life (I am now 26). I have spent several years pursuing different courses at different universities, in between periods of working. What these varied courses have taught me (alongside how to accumulate student debt) is the importance of tailoring your learning as a student, both to your own learning style and to the area which you are studying.
If you want to spend hours delving into the minute detail of the optimal nutrition for a professional football player or understand the intricate workings of advanced logic, that is fine. If you just want to pass an upcoming maths exam or just finish that assignment on UK constitution Law and never think about it again, that is fine too.
Now clearly the approaches you would take to those distinct kinds of learning would be hugely different. This is where I can help, I will talk to you to understand your specific needs and how you like to learn. This will allow me to tailor our sessions to you, to ensure you get what you want from the sessions and ensure they are much more useful (and hopefully more enjoyable) than school.

I believe in an individual approach to lessons.
Accordingly, I am guided by two things: firstly, the student's needs - that is the areas which they need to focus on the most and secondly, the nature of assessment in the relevant area. Taken together these factors allow me to craft a fully tailored pedological approach to the student.
This information will be gleamed from a short free consultation session with the student which will allow me to prepare ahead of the main lesson schedule.
I have a variety of qualifications: BA Philosophy with Maths, MA Political Philosophy, Graduate Diploma of Law, and I am currently studying LLM Legal Practice. This range of qualifications has allowed me to synthesize a variety of teaching approaches into my tutoring.
Lesson length will be guided by the particulars student's needs and preferred learning approaches but can range from 45 mins to 3 hours.
My primary focus is on GSCE or A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Law but I can also teach all other levels of schooling. Furthermore, I can also teach Philosophy and Politics.
