About Derek
Hello! I'm a writer, poet, educator and graduate student from Minnesota. Currently, I'm pursuing a Master in Fine Arts in the Creative Writing Workshop at the University of New Orleans, where I've also worked as a writing coach at the university writing center for the past year. As a writer and reader, I have a deep faith in the transformative power of literature. As an educator, I consider it a privilege to help students expand their minds and opportunities through strengthening their writing and reason skills.
