About Alec
I am a graduate from Swarthmore College–the Forbes ranked #1 liberal arts college in the country. I majored in Environmental Studies and minored in Chemistry while being a four year member, and eventual captain, of one of the premier DIII men's basketball teams in the country. I believe Swarthmore to be the most rigorous academic environment in the country and I take a lot of pride in my experiences there.
Additionally, I was a straight A student throughout high school–taking the maximum amount of AP courses (as well as two additional summer supplemental APS) while balancing basketball and my time as a member of one of the top youth symphonies in the country. I still enjoy music to this day and taught myself to play the guitar 5 years ago.

I usually start with an initial informational session where we go over what the student has learned, what they seem to be struggling with, and go through their current homework to see what kinds of topics they could be getting tripped up on.
As we progress, I help them develop better studying habits and plans for upcoming exams and quizzes.
We review every exam afterwards to help iron out confusions and gauge a better understanding of what work is left to be done.
I am extremely patient and am not afraid to adjust to knew strategies or techniques to maximize the benefit to students.
I tutor all grade levels K-12, though my clients' average ages currently range from grades 7-10.
