About Megan
Megan is a vibrant flautist based in Cardiff, where she is currently performing in historical chamber ensembles.
In 2021, Megan graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a First Class Honours degree. Here, she took a particular interest in Orchestral and Historical performance, studying with Jonathan Burgess, Sarah Newbold, John Hall and Katy Bircher.
She has also taken part in various mentoring and masterclasses with well-known orchestral names, including, Matthew Featherstone, Sarah Bennington, Marie-Christine Zupancic, Emily Beynon and Bojan Čičić.
Whilst at RWCMD, she performed in the Royal Welsh Symphony Orchestra, Wind Orchestra and many other smaller ensembles including, Piano trios and Baroque Chamber Ensembles.
These incredible experiences have shaped Megan’s way of teaching and her overall outlook on music, providing her with a unique method that adapts to the student’s way of thinking as well as their own passions and goals. Megan is devoted to passing on her enjoyment and enthusiasm for music to students of all ages and abilities.

I am passionate about focusing the lessons around the student’s interests. We will work on building the foundations of a great technique that will last throughout your musical journey. This may include breathing, finger dexterity, musicality and performance strategies.
Lessons will usually be 30 minutes or 60 minutes, but I can be flexible to suit your own needs.
My lessons are for students of any age and ability and can be adapted to suit what you are most interested in, which may include establishing a great technique, a repertoire of your own choice or advanced training for exams.
