About Okechukwu
I've been a math tutor to dozens, if not hundreds of students since February 2019. As I have taken and passed actuarial exams, I am excited to pass on my knowledge to another group of future test-takers.
I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2022. In May 2024, I obtained my master's degree from the University of Iowa in Actuarial Science. I have passed five actuarial exams, specifically Exams P, FM, FAM, SRM, and ALTAM; I plan to take PA in April 2026 and become an ASA by the end of the year.

In my opinion, drilling various styles of problems is the best way to increase a student's familiarity with concepts that they may find difficult. I am a huge proponent of using examples to aid students’ comprehension of new ideas, and then slowly ramp up the difficulty of the examples. Unlike other tutors, I am also fond of assigning my own curated homework assignments, to make sure that the student can take away what they learned in our session and apply it on their own. I pull the homework questions from various sources and sometimes adapt them to further demonstrate a particular concept.
I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience for various students, dating back to 2019. I tutored students ranging from adults to student-athletes to rising seventh-graders in mathematics, probability, and statistics. Most recently, I was a TA at the University of Iowa from 2022 to 2024, leading my discussion sections in elementary statistics.
