About David
Pianist David Kancsar is equally at home in Broadway orchestra pits, intimate Cabaret Settings, and the classical concert stage. He has concertized nationwide, as well as served as pianist and/or music director of Forever Plaid, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, Spamalot, and the Producers, among others. He taught AP Music Theory at an exclusive, nationally-ranked college-prep high school for 13 years, and is eager to help you in your quest to become a better pianist and musician.

I am eager to help you master your technical difficulties, improve your ability to interpret the composer's intentions, and become a more expressive, emotive musician. I will also help you with music theory as appropriate to the literature you're working on. I'm excited to work with you, whether you're a rank beginner that doesn't know a bass clef from an Allegro, or an advanced pianist looking to participate in auditions, competitions, or recitals. We will work on the usual technical exercises such as scales, Hanon, Czerny and the like, but also on repertoire from Bach to Beethoven to Rachmaninoff and everything in between. (Ragtime, pop, and improv are also possibilities!)
