About Kaysha
As someone who learned Korean as an adult, I am very aware of how hard it can be to learn a new language, especially languages that are considered "more difficult" for native English speakers. Although I am not a native speaker of Korean, I completed the programs at both the Yonsei Korean Language Institute and the Sogang Korean Language Education Center in Seoul. This means I have over 2000 hours of in-person schooling for Korean language education. I graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Japanese, a minor in Linguistics, and a certification in undergraduate TESOL studies. I believe that learning a language is very much about input (flashcards anyone?), but making real connections to learning material (and having fun) is the best way to retain any language and use it in real life.

I am a Korean language teacher who:
-specializes in lessons for English-speaking Korean language beginners and intermediate learners.
-emphasizes a strong focus on the basics of Korean (Hangul and beginner or intermediate grammar) and the four areas of study taught in language schools (speaking, reading, writing, listening).
-understands the importance of cultural understanding (Learning a language is also learning culture).
-modifies lessons to each learner's goals, needs, and learning speeds.
-loves to use Korean pop culture as learning tools (ex. using KPOP to learn new vocabulary or Korean variety shows to identify grammar patterns).
